Sitaware

SitaWare provides a modern framework for CCIS

Situational awareness is critical in staying ahead of battlespace developments. SitaWare offers the ability to acquire, view, analyse, and distribute mission-critical operational information. It allows you to plan upcoming operations and track status on military units currently deployed, thereby providing core Command and Control Information System (CCIS) functionality.

Optimised presentaion of information

SitaWare includes an integrated Graphical Information System (GIS), making the geographical map the central part of the system and enabling direct display and manipulation of units and graphics on the map.

Figure 1: SitaWare main window showing a Reserve staying at the Assembly Area while units move toward a Hostile Estate to conduct a House and Area Search. Meanwhile a Recce Squad is supplying them with information on the area from a hidden observation post.

The integrated GIS provides a wide range of functionality within the product which are described in detail in the SitaWare Whitepaper, but most importantly, it also allows for project specific development of features or integration of 3rd party add-ons directly against the GIS APIs.

Figure 2: Satellite image showing details of the plan being carried out. Right side of the screen shows the Task Organisation for the plan and the Symbol Toolbox from where units and graphics can be added by drag and drop to quickly update the map when new situations arise.

Enhancing Own Force Security

The BMS enhances the security of own forces and minimises the risk of friendly fire through the COP and by e.g. enabling current adjustments to plans that are distributed instantly to relevant parties. Sketches of plans can even be drawn directly on the screen and be displayed to other units or to HQ immediately.

General Capabilities

SitaWare can be used as a comprehensive command and control system or it can be integrated as a component in your own system. Modular, object-oriented design enables extendibility and easy customisation to fit your specific needs. SitaWare is also a useful tool for test and references. Several of our customers use it to verify interoperability of national military implementations.

Interoperability

Used in conjunction with Systematic's IRIS Replication Mechanism (IRM), SitaWare facilitates the flow of information between organisations. Information distribution is carried out using the IRIS Replication Mechanism and message-based communication using the IRIS organisational messaging software, IOM for Outlook.
